We pay the highest rates in the industry to ensure the Dragon Boat Events Team are 'simply the best'. Our typical event crew is made up of seasoned professionals; many having been with the company in excess of ten years, thus ensuring depth and continuity to our event delivery. They are highly motivated and promote a competitive spirit whilst ensuring the activity remains fun for those participating - so much so that many returning teams ask for specific helms by name in successive years!

Dragon Boat Events Ltd. was started by Roger Irwin who was previously an Executive committee member of the British Dragon Boat Racing Association. It was Roger who first recognised the potential of dragon boating as a community sport and one of the first people to introduce dragon boating to the UK from China. He was one of the first National Coaches to set up a coaching scheme and the first person to use dragon boating for both corporate and charity fund raising events. Dragon Boat Events Ltd. has helped raise in excess of £9 million for charities.
Dragon Boat Events Ltd. are the only company in the UK to have a boat trailer capable of carrying six forty-foot dragon boats at a time. Our distinctive control vehicles are unique to our events in that they form a focal point to all our events, contain a public address system and also a commentary base. They also house our computerised results service and a leader board, on which results and times are posted as they happen. Last but not least, they act as dedicated First Aid stations.”
Our policy of only selecting the very best dragon boat helms and event crew from around the UK means our experienced event team often has in excess 50 years of dragon boating experience at each event.
We can help promote your charity or corporate image by having your corporate message and logo put on the dragons for all to see.
All our events are covered by our own safety boat - and ex RNLI 'D' class inflatable rib which, with our other boats, is capable of rescuing an entire crew in the event of a capsize. For additional safety, our key event crew members are also linked by our own short wave radios and have first aid certification.
We also supply as standard at your event, full running commentary, music and p.a. coverage throughout the day.
We are famous for the great music we play, which always give our events that 'magical' atmosphere.
Even the Boss himself gets involved!
Our in-house marquee division can also provide: marquees, mini-marquees and also eeze-up shelters for your teams or your clients as required.
To round off your event in style, the day finishes with an award ceremony where China trophies are awarded to the top three teams. For the winning crew, each registered member gets presented with our own 'Olympic' style medals, which are made of solid metal and hang from their own red ribbon!
